Overview

WELCOME FROM HEAD

We are here to educate your children to the highest possible standard, in an inclusive community school that values and celebrates the richness of our pupils' diverse backgrounds and talents.

We aim to ensure our pupils become well-rounded, successful people who are equipped for life in Modern Britain.

We provide our children with a strong education driven by our values of resilience, individuality, co-operation, respect, curiosity, courage, responsibility, democracy and independence.

Visitors to our school comment on the calm and friendly environment and the obvious enthusiasm of our pupils towards their learning. We set high standards for our pupils and staff and aim to have every child leave us equipped with the educational and social skills that they need to thrive in secondary school and beyond.

We are proud of our academic results and are always striving for improvement but also take care to nurture and stimulate our children – we want every child to leave Derwentwater Primary School with happy memories of their early education as well as the skills they need to succeed in life.

Warm Regards,

Venessa Nicholas

Headteacher

Local Area

Teaching in any country is a wonderful career.  Teaching in London is a wonderful life.

Living in and around the London Borough of Ealing is perfect for young professionals and teachers with the travel bug.  Heathrow Airport and the heart of London are 20 miles away.

The borough of Ealing is a fantastic place in which to live and work. Located in the heart of West London it comprises seven districts - Ealing, Southall, Hanwell, Acton, Northolt, Perivale and Greenford. Each of these areas has unique characteristics, and together they form one of the most vibrant and diverse communities in Britain.

Ealing Broadway is home to many shops, pubs and parks and Shepherd’s Bush is around the corner, providing access to Westfield shopping centre.  As one of London's busiest boroughs, there are all the recreational facilities you would expect in a lively metropolitan centre, with museums, a local theatre, cinemas, galleries and an eclectic mix of restaurants to choose from.

Travel in and out of London is simple and inexpensive, with a variety of discount airlines and train options getting you in to Europe and beyond.

If you’re tired of London, you’re tired of life.
