Devonshire Primary is situated in South Sutton. With a green site, the school welcomes a varied catchment with up to 47% EAL pupils. The school has a separate nursery building.

The atmosphere at any school is created by the contributions of everybody within the school community. Our school has a friendly learning environment, created by a hard-working staff team, a supportive governing body, enthusiastic parents and inquisitive children. Expectations for behaviour and learning are high from the Nursery up to Year 6. We are looking to nurture the spirit of lifelong learning within our school whilst promoting tolerance, creativity, fairness and perseverance personal qualities which will help our children make a positive contribution to society, now and in the future.

Our most recent Ofsted report (October 2015) recognises the direction in which we are moving. The challenge now is to become even better. We welcome the judgements of the Ofsted inspectors, but the report itself is merely a signpost towards what we are trying to achieve at Devonshire. We aim to become a source of even greater pride within the local community.

Devonshire Primary School is a 3 form entry primary school located in South Sutton. We have 700 children on roll. The school opened in 1968 as a 2 form entry primary school and expanded in 2011 to become 3 form entry. We are a caring community, enthusiastic for everyone's success. Our staff and governors are committed to providing the best possible outcomes for the children at Devonshire. We strive for our children to become active and inquisitive learners as well as proud members of the Devonshire community.

As a school, we want to be a valued member of the local community. We have bright and modern learning facilities which are well equipped for enabling children to reach their potential, both inside and outside of the classroom. We have very attractive grounds which include a large playground, a playing field and a school garden. There are a wide variety of extra curricular activities offered to children, providing them with additional opportunities to develop their learning and skills.

We are a good school, as judged by Ofsted in February 2015 "Pupils of all abilities achieve well, with an increasing number making accelerated progress in response to stimulating teaching".
