Welcome

We believe that school is as much about developing children socially and emotionally, as well as academically - so we aim to help your child to grow as an individual.

At Djanogly Northgate Academy all are welcome. We are committed to our children, families, staff and our community.

We are an inclusive school where everyone embraces, respects and learns from our vibrant diversity. We inspire each other to value learning, seek challenge and to have high aspirations.

Through innovative learning opportunities we will equip our children with the skills, knowledge and attributes that allow them to make choices and take control of their futures.

We are a school where we ALL aim to be the best versions of ourselves.

We aim to create this ‘Northgate Way’ through:

  • Providing a well thought out curriculum and environment that inspires children to learn, encouraging them to be aspirational, resourceful and resilient in their learning and in life.
  • Promoting a welcoming and nurturing environment where everyone feels safe, valued and happy.
  • Respecting, valuing and celebrating our diversity
  • Providing a place where all involved with school see themselves as learners.

Vision Statement

Our Vision of Djanogly Northgate Academy is a school where everyone is a learner and everyone is committed to supporting learning in all its forms.

It is a school where all contributions and roles are recognised, welcomed and valued and where cultural diversity is celebrated. We know that everyone is talented and believe it is our role to find out how, through high quality teaching and learning.

Committed to putting children first

The safety, happiness and education of all children is at the heart of everything we do and every decision we take. We believe that happy children and families are the key to making learning successful and ensuring that they continue to succeed as they move on to a secondary education and beyond.

Developing a sense of community

Our curriculum is stimulating and creative and encourages children to understand where they live. It helps them develop a sense of community and social responsibility, from our very youngest children exploring how people are special, sharing photos about their families in Nottingham and around the world, to our Schools Council supporting Nottingham City homes taking surveys in the local area. We also want them to look beyond our school and their community to ignite an interest in the world around them and for that interest to lead to them becoming questioning and curious individuals.

Pastoral care

Whilst academic achievements are an important part of life at our school we recognise that it is important to support the whole child. We promote children’s personal and social development and the fostering of positive attitudes. We have a purpose built nurture provision for those children who need a little more support so that they can have the space to develop and the security to flourish. Our pastoral care is exceptional, ensuring all children are supported throughout their time with us.

Dedicated staff

At Northgate we have a team of dedicated and talented staff who ensure that all our children are well supported and able to reach their true potential. They work hard with all children and their families to help overcome any barriers to learning.
