Our Values and Aims

Our Aims and Values

These Aims and Values were originally written in 1996 and are reviewed annually, following extensive consultation procedures involving the whole school community.

They underpin all areas of the curriculum, support an explicit programme of Personal and Social Education and sustain the positive ethos of our school.

Our Values

At Elmlea Infants’ School we believe:

That it is important to ‘TAKE TIME TO BE A CHILD’

That ‘Education is about the Whole Child’

By educating the ‘whole child’ we believe that all our children will flourish and mature into well rounded, confident, happy and responsible members of a wider community.

That education is as much about encouraging an enjoyment of learning as about learning itself.

Our school offers a secure, safe and welcoming environment where all members of the school community are treated as individuals. It values links with the wider community.

That education is a partnership between parents/carers, children, all school staff and Governors and that these partners have high expectations of one another.
