Eton End was set up in 1936 to educate the children of Eton Masters, it is a school which successfully merges tradition with a forward thinking approach and to this day, the links still remain with Eton College.
The pupils at Eton End achieve excellent academic results, developing a life-long love of learning which is delivered in small classes. From Nursery upwards the highly qualified specialist staff bring the broad curriculum alive with their enthusiasm and expertise. Alongside this, we also focus on Eton End’s ‘hidden’ curriculum; encouraging the children to be resilient and to persevere, showing self-awareness and an ability to reflect on their progress, empathising with peers and encouraging others and, most importantly, learning to respect one another. A child’s character and personality is what will make them stand out from the crowd as an adult and, at Eton End, we strive to develop and nurture our pupils and encourage them to be individuals whilst preparing them for life in the 21st Century.
The school’s outstanding pastoral care ensures that every pupil, however old they are, is known personally at every stage in his or her education and supported and guided in their learning. Pupils flourish in this safe and happy environment.
The extensive school grounds are used at every opportunity by the pupils during the year, with an extensive Nursery garden, outdoor classrooms, nature trails and a pond all within easy reach of the classrooms. The school offers a wide range of sporting, musical, dramatic and extra-curricular activities, encouraging collaboration and confidence outside of the classroom.
The roots of the school’s ethos are embedded in the philosophy of the Victorian educationalist Charlotte Mason and we still live by our motto:
I am, I can, I ought, I will
In a rapidly changing world the school offers pupils an excellent all-round education, whilst ensuring they experience a childhood they will cherish.
