Overview

Farndon Fields is a successful and friendly school set in beautiful grounds on the edge of Market Harborough. Our school is growing in size with two additional classrooms due for completion in February 2013.

We have very high aspirations for all of the children in our school and the entire school community works hard to ensure that the children reach their potential in a nurturing environment that values excellence, enjoyment and innovation. We ensure that the children are given every opportunity to further develop and improve and that they leave Farndon Fields well equipped to move on to the next phase of their education.

"Pupils achieve well because teaching is effective, lessons are interesting and those who need extra support get what they need"

In October 2012, Ofsted rated the school as ‘good’. They reported that ‘pupils achieve well because teaching is effective, lessons are interesting and those who need extra support get what they need.’ They added that ‘a high level of enthusiasm throughout the school community creates a very positive climate for learning’.

We have very close links with our local community including a strong collaborative partnership with all of the local schools. Farndon Fields became a school with academy status on 1st July 2012 as part of the Harborough Collaborative Trust (HCT). The HCT is a group of like-minded schools that are aiming to deliver the best outcomes for primary age children in the Harborough district.

We are proud of the future that we are building at Farndon Fields and we are pleased to share further information about our school. If you would like to see the school in action then we would welcome the opportunity to show you around and answer any questions that you may have. In the meantime, do take the opportunity to have a look around our website which highlights the fabulous learning that is taking place at Farndon Fields Primary School.

Shared Vision. Shared Values. One Aim.

Discovery Schools Academies Trust (DSAT) was incorporated on 13th June 2012 following an 18 month National Support School Partnership led by Kibworth Church of England Primary School. A formalised partnership was established with Parkland Primary School that raised outcomes for children in each school by sharing expertise as well as staff.

In September 2013 Sileby Redlands Primary School and in November 2013 Danemill Primary school joined the DSAT multi academy group. More recently we have seen the Trust grow further with Woolden Hill Primary School joining in June 2014 and Mowmacre Hill Primary School in September 2014. We now total six primary schools in the Leicestershire region with new schools also showing an interest to be part of the group.

The multi academy partnership is dedicated to improving learning and teaching by creating a culture that promotes excellence. The needs of all children are placed at the heart of all decision making regardless of the school that they attend.

Discovery Schools Academies Trust Ltd is led by Paul Stone, a National Leader of Education and supported by an executive board of directors drawn from the governing bodies of all member schools.
