Hackbridge Primary School Careers Site Eteach (38316)

About Us

Our school was built over 100 years ago. We became a primary school in September 2002 when Hackbridge Infants and Juniors merged to become one primary school. A sports hall has been a welcome addition to our site and this was completed in June 2006.

In November 2016 we formed a hard federation with Spencer Nursery School enabling us to offer education from 0 - 11 across our 3 sites.

Having been a popular three form entry primary school with a maintained nursery for many years, we became a four form entry primary school, with maintained nurseries, on a split site as of autumn 2019.

Our original ‘Hackbridge Corner’ site has a 52 part-time place nursery (15 hours universal free education) and three forms of entry (90 pupils) from Reception to Year 6.

Our new ‘London Road’ site has a 26 full-time place nursery (30 hours free education (15 hours universal plus 15 hours extended entitlement)) and will eventually house one form of entry from Reception to Year 6. In 2020/2021, there is a 30 hour Nursery class, a Reception class, a Year 1 class and a Year 2 class on this site as a result of our expansion. The ‘London Road’ site will continue to expand by a year group each year until it is fully one form of entry from Reception to Year 6 by September 2024.

Our London Road site is the first Passivhaus plus school in the UK.

Across both sites, the school is very fortunate to have specialist provisions for ICT, Music, Design & Technology/Art and well-equipped libraries. In addition to these, we also have a specialist Sports Hall at our 'Hackbridge Corner' site and are very excited about the addition of a new playing field on our 'London Road' site. On both sites, we have wonderful pond areas providing an ideal space for science and quiet activities. Our Family Room at 'Hackbridge Corner' provides a venue for a range of family activities, including our Friday morning 'Stay & Play' sessions which are open to pre-school children and their parents/carers in our community.

Our Aims

Our Aims

We aim to:

  • provide a broad, balanced and challenging curriculum, which meets the educational, emotional and social needs of our pupils;
  • enable our pupils to develop self-confidence, pride in their achievements at school and to take responsibility for their learning;
  • encourage pupils to develop respect for themselves and others in school and for those in the wider society;
  • provide a safe and secure environment;
  • develop meaningful links with families and the local community.

In 2018 we became part of the Mayor of London’s ‘Schools For Success’ Programme.  We had a successful OFSTED inspection in July 2018 which resulted in 'Good' overall.
