Overview

Like all schools, Hannah More delivers the national curriculum, ensuring children acquire all the basic skills they need to succeed in the next phase of their education. We are very proud of the results our Year 6 children achieve at the end of their time here and of the progress they make, but we also know that there is more to a good school than just the results.

At Hannah More we live our core values; determination, openness, nurture, enjoyment and respect. Quite simply, these are the qualities we want for our school, for our children, for families and for our wider community. We believe they will foster a positive climate and thus ensure successful learning. They underpin much of the way we assess our own performance and then inform our plans for the future. You will find more about the values - what they mean for us and how we promote them - on this site.

Vision and values

At Hannah More Primary School, our vision is of a dynamic, engaged and thriving community that inspires ambition, pride and success in every child. Our values explore how we behave within our school:

Determination -The ability that all members of the school community demonstrate to 'stick at it'. The commitment to producing our best work, shown by every member of the community and our resilience in difficult circumstances.

Openness - The ability our school community has to communicate without pretence, reserve or defensiveness. Our lack of prejudice and our receptiveness to new ideas and arguments.

Nurture - The expertise our school shows at caring for and growing individuals.

Enjoyment - The fulfilment that all members of our school community are able to derive from their involvement and learning.

Respect - The fairness, understanding and acceptance that members of the school community demonstrate in all their dealings with each other. The message our school conveys publicly about valuing diversity and celebrating communities.
