Horsell Cof E Aided Junior School

Overview

At Horsell C of E Junior School we believe we are all ‘made in the image of God’.  Through a commitment to Christian values and high academic aspirations, we strive to provide a rich and inclusive education for every member of our school family.’

Horsell Church of England Junior School is a three-form entry Junior school in Horsell, Surrey.  Situated in the middle of the village, the school is at the centre of the local community.  All members of our school family live by our values of love, service, dignity, hope, justice and forgiveness.

Horsell pupils are articulate, inquisitive, polite and eager to learn.  Parents and carers are supportive and we have a large and active PTA.  The school has large classrooms, year group sets of Chromebooks, a nurture room and a specialist intervention room (Apple).  The extensive grounds include a swimming pool, cricket nets, gym equipment and Opal play resources for lunch times.

Staff development is key to everything that we do and staff participate in a wide range of CPD opportunities.  We have weekly staff training as well as links with other schools through the Woking Learning Schools Partnership. Teachers are encouraged to take further qualifications, such as the NPQ.   We have a proud record of supporting and nurturing student teachers/ECTs and work closely with local teacher training providers.  Additional subject release time is provided, as well as shared PPA time with colleagues in year group teams.   We also have a team of skilled and dedicated support staff who work across the school.

Horsell Junior School is a collaborative and supportive place to work. We encourage all of our staff to actively engage with their teaching practice, participate in current educational thinking and work together to achieve the best possible outcomes for our children.
