Houghton School is a Church of England School for boys and girls aged 4-10, situated in the picturesque and popular village of Houghton on the Hill and surrounded by the beautiful Leicestershire countryside.

We are privileged to have close links with St Catharine’s Church in the village and our school ethos is an important part of school life, but we equally welcome families of all faiths and none.

Our school is an integral part of the local community and we are committed to fostering in all our pupils a strong sense of respect, honesty, co-operation and responsibility.

We place importance on developing skills in reading, writing and numeracy and offer a creative curriculum through which we hope to see all pupils realise their full academic, creative and personal potential.

At Houghton School we have adopted ten Christian values which underpin all our work and relationships. Pupils, staff, parents and visitors are asked to do their best to uphold these values in the work they do, their dealings with each other, when faced with difficult situations and their witness in the community.

As a Church of England school our worship is of a mainly Christian nature but we draw on the teachings, values and experiences of all the faiths our school represents.
