Head Teachers Welcome

Ritu Aulakh (Headteacher), the staff and pupils are pleased to welcome you to Hounslow Heath Junior School, which is in the London Borough of Hounslow.

The School was built in the 1930s on the site of an earlier secondary school, dating back to about 1860. The main building has been sound-proofed and we have large play areas.

The school also has a Centre for Children with Physical Disabilities, and a Centre for Children with Moderate Learning Difficulties, also including children with ASD needs, who are fully included in all aspects of school life. For more information please see the section on this website entitled Physical Disability Centre and the Local Offer.

Hounslow Heath is a multicultural school, and we are able to enjoy and celebrate the wide cultural and linguistic diversity, that the children and families bring to the school.

Our School Motto is: Enjoy, Learn and Achieve.

Hounslow Heath Junior School provides a welcoming, stimulating environment, which is conducive to learning; where the value, respect and self esteem of individuals is promoted through our commitment towards providing equality of opportunity. Through our delivery of a broad, balanced and differentiated curriculum, we aim to meet the needs of all the children, thus enabling them to reach their full potential and become independent learners. To facilitate this, we will provide a variety of appropriate resources and activities, which emphasise the importance of practical experience and the development from the child's own knowledge and understanding. Partnership between all members of the school community is fundamental to achieving this.

Our School Aims:

  • To ensure equality of opportunity for all children, in all aspects of school life, valuing them as individuals and encouraging mutual respect and co-operation.
  • To offer a curriculum that motivates pupils and enables them to experience success, and builds on existing concepts, skills and understanding.
  • To develop in all our pupils, an increasing responsibility for their learning, by stimulating their interest and sense of enquiry with which to acquire knowledge and skills for now and in the future.
  • To provide a caring, stimulating, secure learning environment, in which every child can reach their full potential as an individual, socially, intellectually and physically.
  • To use a variety of teaching styles which enable pupils to learn from a range of strategies including first hand experience.
  • To develop the school as a community and create a supportive environment, in which children, staff, governors, parents and the wider community work together and are able to reach their potential.
