King’s House School was founded in 1946 and has since grown to a prep school of over 400 children, with the co-educational Nursery opening in 2009.
We are proud of the breadth of our curriculum: the broad and balanced all-round education King’s House provides children with the skills and mental resilience to succeed in their next steps in life. Each pupil is able to discover their unique talents and passions, be it on the sports field, performing on stage, in the classroom or much more.
Our pupils go on to a wide range of day, boarding, single sex and co-ed schools at 11 and 13, and we work closely with families to make sure each boys goes on to the right senior school for them.
Students are taught by a team of experienced teachers, working together to meet the needs of each child. Our staff team are enthusiastic and dedicated, inspiring the very best standards of their pupils.
King’s House aims to develop our pupils’ sense of awareness in the world around them, instilling a respect for our environment and aiming to play a role in the local and global community. Led by the Year 8 Charity Ambassadors, each year the pupils choose a charity to support and raise money for. In 2021-22 we raised over £4,000 for Skylarks, a local charity who support children with disabilities and additional needs. We were recently awarded the Eco-Schools Green Flag, an international accreditation which acknowledges, rewards and celebrates young people’s environmental actions.
