Welcome

On behalf of all the children, staff and governors, I would like to welcome you to Kirkstall St Stephen’s CE Primary School.

Kirkstall St Stephen’s Church of England Primary School has been at the heart of our community for many years, yet our passion for providing the very best education, underpinned by a strong Christian ethos, remains undiminished.

Kirkstall St Stephen’s is a warm and welcoming school where we Cherish children to feel happy, safe and well supported. We have high expectations of every child and so the school has a calm and ordered atmosphere with a very high standard of behaviour.

We seek not only to support our children and Challenge them to achieve outstanding academic standards but also to encourage strong personal development so that they have the skills, characteristics and capability to make the most of their learning both here and in the wider world. In all we do we work towards enabling the children to become Children of God and rounded, positive members of today's world, with the self belief, confidence and determination to make their unique contribution to our community and beyond.

We understand the importance of our partnership with parents to enable the children to fulfil their potential and we operate an open-door policy where parents feel welcome to visit the school at any time.

Our Vision & Values

Vision

‘We are cherished...We are challenged... We are children of God’

Our school vision

We are cherished- we aim to create a caring environment where all children and staff feel welcome, supported, valued and respected.

We are challenged- we aim to provide a stimulating and challenging learning environment, where achievements are recognised and it's also safe to fail.

We are children of God- we recognise the value of each and every individual, and aim to encourage everyone's unique spiritual development and potential.

This vision is complemented by our values tree based on the bible verse in Jeremiah 17:7-8

Blessed are those who trust in the Lord and have their confidence in him. They will be like a tree planted by the water, that sends it roots out by the stream.

Central to our aims is an expectation that the children of Kirkstall St Stephen’s CE Primary School will display high standards of behaviour and treat other people as they would wish to be treated themselves in accordance with our school rules. We promote an environment which helps children develop into confident, well-motivated and hard- working pupils who enjoy school and have high self-esteem, and who go onto achieve their full potential.
