Knighton Mead, part of The Mead Educational Trust, is a small, inner-city primary academy, situated close to Leicester City centre. The academy has approximately 220 pupils in mainstream school and a nursery. Visitors often comment on the welcome they receive in our academy and we pride ourselves on having a nurturing, family atmosphere. We are based in a historic building, which first opened as a school in 1929 and provides spacious and airy accommodation. We make the most of our site with adventure playgrounds and a gazebo garden.
At Knighton Mead, we fully appreciate the value of learning outside the classroom. Each class has regular trips off site to enhance the curriculum.
We value parental involvement highly and regularly offer parent workshops and events.
We have high expectations of all our pupils, including their uniform, attendance, behaviour and, most importantly, their attitude to learning. Staff are expected to maintain high professional standards and be approachable to children and adults.
