About the L.E.A.D. Academy Trust The creation of the L.E.A.D. Academy Trust was a natural progression of our belief in a partnership ethos and our determination to ensure that more young people receive an exceptional education.

We passionately believe in the power of partnership working as a catalyst for better educational outcomes for children and systemic change.

This is why our model allows member schools the autonomy to lead and manage in a way that preserves their individual identity and responds to specific community needs, while unifying them through:

  • shared vision and values;
  • partnership working in key areas such as leadership, professional development and sharing best ideas and practice;
  • improved succession and career planning;
  • a relentless focus on an exceptional quality of teaching and learning.

A strong focus on leadership permeates our model. Everyone can benefit from the development of leadership skills.

Our focus on leadership also extends to succession planning, talent management and enhanced career options for leaders across our schools. Growing our own leaders and deploying them across the Trust as opportunities arise embeds our values, facilitates the sharing of best practice and promote sustainability.

About Us

Our vision is that...

...through outstanding leadership we will provide the highest quality education to enable every pupil to realise their full potential.

Of course, every good school aspires to this aim, so what makes us different?

We passionately believe in the power of partnership working as a catalyst for ensuring more children receive an exceptional education.  Our member schools know the transformational impact it can have from experience.

At the same time, we recognise the importance of autonomy.  Every school has its own context and challenges.  This is why we encourage our member schools to lead and manage in a way that preserves their individual identity and responds to the specific needs of their children and community.

The combination of autonomy and collaboration across key areas of leadership and management, underpinned by shared vision, values and best practice is what makes the L.E.A.D. Academy Trust unique.

We are also strengthened by the support, guidance and wide-ranging skills of our experienced board of trustees.

The acronym L.E.A.D. embodies the four core principles at the heart of the Trust:

  • strong leadership at every level;
  • empowering every child to aim high;
  • giving every child the opportunity to achieve and constantly driving for improvement.

Our innovative model is attracting widespread attention from schools nationally that share our vision and values.

Our Schools

When you visit a L.E.A.D school you will notice:

  • the highest standards of behaviour and conduct;
  • outstanding teaching and learning;
  • a fully inclusive approach where all children are equally important;
  • a climate of mutual respect between the children, staff and community;
  • positive relationships;
  • high aspirations for all involved with the school – a ‘can do’ attitude;
  • a wide range of enrichment opportunities for all to get involved;
  • a celebration of all the cultures and faiths represented in the school;
  • an organisation where there are no excuses for underachievement.

The Trust was formally established on 1st October 2011. It currently comprises twelve schools.
