Welcome to the Leathersellers’ Federation of Schools which includes Prendergast School, Prendergast Ladywell School, Prendergast Vale School, Prendergast Sixth Form College and Prendergast Primary School. All our schools share a common goal which is to provide excellent academic education and inclusive, personal support to all pupils. We are determined to develop and sustain an outstanding educational service for our community. Each school has its own identity and ethos, but all share common values and purpose. The Leathersellers' Federation of Schools develops the vision of Joseph Prendergast who founded Lewisham's first girls' secondary school in 1890, on a site provided by the Leathersellers’ Company (one of the ancient Livery Companies of the City of London). The Federation formed in 2008 with Prendergast School and Prendergast Ladywell School. Prendergast Vale School was established as part of the Federation in 2010. Prendergast Primary (Ladywell) School opened in 2014. Across our schools we are responsible for the education of approximately 2600 pupils and our aim is ensure that each of our pupils receives an excellent education in a safe, inclusive and supportive learning environment.

Pension scheme

All staff are eligible to join their relevant pension scheme (either the Teacher’s Pension Scheme or Local Government Pension Scheme depending on their role). 

Childcare voucher scheme

All staff are entitled to apply for childcare vouchers this is a salary sacrifice scheme, exempt form tax and NI contributions, saving you money on the cost of childcare. 

Ride to work scheme

The Federation participates in the Ride2Work scheme which allows staff to obtain substantial discounts, via tax allowances, for the purchase of a bicycle. The aim of the scheme is that the bicycle is primarily used for travel to and from work.

Season ticket loan scheme

The Federation offers interest free season ticket loans to staff to enable them to purchase an annual ticket for travel to and from work. 

Computer loan scheme

The Federation offers interest free computer loans to staff to enable them to purchase a personal computer. 

Confidential care

All staff have free access to a 24-hour confidential employee assistance programme, Worklife Support, designed to help individuals deal with a range of personal and general problems.

Annual leave (support staff only)

The minimum annual leave entitlement for support staff is 26 days a year (pro-rata for part-time) increasing to 31 days after 5 years’ service and 34 days after 10 years’ service.
