Overview

Malden Oaks is a small school for students who have found it difficult to access mainstream education. We provide a safe, supportive and stimulating environment where students are encouraged to have high expectations and to take responsibility for their learning and their school community.

We believe that students at Malden Oaks should receive the best possible educational and development opportunities, with high quality teaching and the broadest possible choice of curriculum and activities, delivered within a friendly, caring and supportive environment enabling them to look forward to a positive and successful future.

About Us

Despite our small size we are committed to offering a broad and balanced curriculum which currently includes 16 GCSE subjects to allow students a broad choice and develop their interests. As well as engaging in the formal taught curriculum, students are also encouraged to develop in other areas with an extensive and inspiring outdoor and activity programme.

Supporting our students in developing positive relationships, self-confidence, resilience and creativity is crucial to our ethos and is not measured solely by our academic results but by the views of our past and present students. I would therefore encourage you to watch our promotional video on our webpage www.maldenoaks.org so that you can hear about Malden Oaks from the students in their own words.

Working for Us

We have a committed team of staff who are determined to give our students the best possible chance to succeed in their futures.

We can offer you the opportunity to focus on a small number of students and transform their experience of education. You would also be supported by a formal induction process and training opportunities.

If you're searching for your next teaching post, why not contact us now? You'll be working at a great school and be part of a friendly, helpful team. We're always interested to hear from enthusiastic, committed teachers.

Working in Kingston

One of London’s liveliest boroughs. Life revolves around the Thames, with the buzzing market town of Kingston being the main attraction. Kingston High Street runs parallel to the Thames so it many of its favourite restaurants are found situated along the banks of the riverside.

With the popular Kingston University based here there is an abundance of bars and clubs to entertain the vibrant student population and younger residence.

Kingston upon Thames is one of the greener areas of the capital with two royal parks in neighbouring Richmond upon Thames. Local parks hold facilities to cater for all those who enjoy the great outdoors, such as Canbury Gardens which is home to the Kingston Rowing Club boathouse and is in turn a great spot for fishing.

Only half an hour from central London it has excellent train links. Situated near to the A3 and M25 it is also easily accessible by car. The river bus as an excellent alternative to get into Canary Wharf and London Bridge.

Landmarks

Wimbledon Championships - In the neighbouring Merton bordering Kingston, the world famous Wimbledon Championships takes place. Indulge yourself in summer fun with a spot of Pimms, and Strawberries and Cream.

The Thames - Enjoy the beauty of the Thames when the weather permits it on foot, bicycle or boat.

Kingston Markets - Hunt for bargains in Kingston’s 800 year old markets.

Chessington World of Adventure - One of the UKs biggest and best theme parks. Great for those ‘kidults’ amongst us.

“Out of Order” by David Mach- Iconic sculpture that has been snapped by tourists the world around. If you’ve seen photos of London you’ll probably have seen this.
