Overview

Manorfield opened on the 6th September 2004, following the amalgamation of two long-established local schools. The school is sited in a large residential area on the west side of Horley. It is set in extremely spacious grounds and has been extensively rebuilt and modernised.

Our school is able to offer continuous and high quality education for children aged 2 to 11 years. We are the only school in Horley able to do this. At Manorfield we pride ourselves that 'every child is an individual' and spend time getting to know your child and you.

About Us

Manorfield Primary and Nursery School opened its doors on 2nd September 2004. The school, came about as the result of the closure and subsequent amalgamation of an infant and junior school. A £2 million extension and renovation project was completed, and the school now boasts a fully equipped Early Years Unit with parents’ room, as well as new offices, staff room and reception area. In addition we have a completely modernised and refurbished sports hall, a teacher resource base for planning and preparation and a new library.

The school is a very exciting place for both the staff and children to work in. The school is situated on the west side of Horley, on the edge of Court Lodge Estate. We attract children from all areas of Horley, but our main catchment area is the Court Lodge Estate. On leaving Manorfield, most of our children attend Oakwood Secondary School in Horley. Manorfield is a member of the Horley Learning Partnership of schools.

AIMS OF THE SCHOOL

At Manorfield we endeavour to provide for your child the very best standards of learning.

The school aims to: Achieve the highest possible standards of learning for all our pupils, both academic and social, with every child making the best possible progress; Equip our children with the key skills of reading, writing, numeracy and spoken communication; Equip children with the skills to become independent, life-long learners, with aspirations for their future place in society.

We shall do this by: Expecting the highest standards of learning and behaviour from our children; Providing an attractive, stimulating and well maintained learning environment, where the children are safe, secure and confident to learn from their mistakes; Offering a variety of stimulating, challenging and well-planned educational experiences, which enable children to learn through different learning styles; Finding ways to ensure that all children enjoy school; Promoting positive, supportive and co-operative relationships between and amongst staff, children, parents and the wider community, in order to develop a school ethos that is based on mutual courtesy and respect.
