Welcome

At Marshland Primary School, we aim to provide the very highest standards of education. All the staff have high expectations and work closely together to ensure each child achieves their full potential. We aim to provide the children, staff and visitors with a safe, warm and welcoming environment; one in which relationships can be fostered and learning can be loved.

At our academy, we encourage the development of independence, respect, ambition, enthusiasm, kindness and confidence. We also emphasise the importance of caring, sharing and learning to work and play together. These are skills and attitudes which are important throughout life and will equip our children to be respectful and responsible members of a community.

Obviously, the school is only part of a child’s education. The staff recognise that it is imperative to involve parents and carers with the process of learning. We actively encourage a partnership between home and school. I strongly believe in an ‘open-door’ policy and encourage parents to come in and ask questions, raise concerns or to simply up-date us with information.

We all want the best for the children of Marshland Primary Academy and by working together we can ensure this happens.

Our Vision

Marshland Primary Academy is a happy and welcoming community. Our relationships are built on trust, integrity and respect for others and their differences. We foster a sense of value, pride and understanding between everyone involved in making our schools safe and supportive places to learn and play. There is always someone to talk to.

We provide an exciting and inspirational curriculum that is built around first-hand experiences and that is relevant for today’s world. Our expectations are high. We develop the children as confident explorers, critical thinkers and creative young people who are not afraid to ask questions and take risks. Our committed staff and our strong leaders know it is important to celebrate talents and to challenge individuals to realise their potential. We know everyone has the right to aim high and to shine; we can all be experts sometimes.

We strive to build foundations for lifelong learning and equip children for the next steps as young, confident and resilient adults.

We will inspire, excite and work together to create amazing memories.

Venn Academy Trust

Venn Academy Trust was formed in 2015 as a result of a strong collaborative partnership between two Headteachers, that at the time, represented four settings.

The range of Venn’s provision extends to other high quality extended services: home tuition for sick pupils, the behaviour outreach service and the Hull Royal Infirmary hospital classroom.

From the outset Venn has promoted excellent learning behaviour for all its pupils with a core focus on fostering pupil resilience in its mainstream and specialist teaching settings; resultantly, pupils make exceptional progress irrespective of starting points.

The research undertaken in Venn has secured success in developing a culture of positive learning behaviour that has revolutionised teaching in its schools. Venn are active participants in the regional and local Teaching School Alliances supporting other settings with learning behaviour delivery. In addition to this, the Trust has worked with a wide range of partners including universities to promote a culture of self-regulation in pupils.
