Head Teachers Welcome

Dear Mosaic Community,

What an amazing first year it has been as your Headteacher at Mosaic, leading the school in the next stage of its development and beyond.

My leadership vision is to extend this principle of community further; to realize that by outstanding learning and living together with respect, each one of us within the community becomes greater in actualizing our potential. We become a community of great individuals operating with success and each making our unique respectful contribution.

My aim is to discover the unique voice within each child through excellent education. This is the voice that each child will spend their lifetime honing and developing so that they make their contribution to the global community. To do this, we need to value our staff and give them the opportunities to be their best, so that they can work in partnership with parents and carers to give each of our Mosaic children, an outstanding platform and foundational primary education to take them forward. I believe strongly in diversity's power and every child's innate potential. I value inclusion and actively seek to discover each child's unique voice as they develop through our amazing school.

Through outstanding education at Mosaic, I will ensure that all children are inspired and have a love of learning; to be creative and have the courage to make positive choices. We will put excellent learning first and shape our teaching to bring out the best and most productive learning in the children.

I cannot wait to further develop strong relationships with you, your families and the wider community. With this in mind, I believe that communication is of the utmost importance. I believe that if we work together we can provide the best school experience for your child. As with all human endeavours, schools are places of constant renewal and development.

I look forward to another year being a part of the wonderful and crucial adventure of primary education at Mosaic.

Our Ethos

Our ethos is summed up in the ancient Jewish hope: “May our children be our builders” and is based on the following three aspirations:

Inspire
To inspire children to create their best possible journeys in life, with confidence in their own cultures, heritage and beliefs

Respect
To develop self-respect and expand it within and across the Jewish community, British society and the wider world

Excellence
To enable children to reach their full potential, emotionally, socially, academically and spiritually. The school is inclusive, welcoming children of all backgrounds on a non-selective basis. We create a strong sense of community in the school’s life and pursue excellence in delivering a primary education.

Our Aims

“...You shall teach them diligently to your children”

Our school strives for academic excellence through a balanced curriculum of strong general coursework based on the national curriculum and a comprehensive Jewish studies programme. The introduction of Hebrew emphasises the connection to Jewish history and culture.

Our interdisciplinary approach highlights experiential learning across all subjects and helps students develop critical thinking, logical reasoning, creativity and strong writing skills.

We have developed a creative curriculum in line with the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) and National Curriculum. We teach within a caring and nurturing environment which develops the potential of all children, building their self-esteem and confidence to enable them to develop the skills to think and learn effectively.

We emphasise learning through cross-curricular links and real experiences. We appreciate that children learn by doing and being able to take an active part in their learning, which will enable them to build effectively on their interests and previous experiences.

We recognise the importance of preparing children for life in an ever-changing world and the need for them to develop the skills to become independent and thoughtful learners who are able to find and evaluate information for themselves. We help prepare children to live active and purposeful lives as adults.
