Partnerships

The school has forged a number of mutually beneficial partnerships over the years. Among the organisations we are affiliated with are Goldsmiths, the University of Sussex, St Mary's University and UCL Institute of Education, where many of our student teachers are trained. The college has been awarded Specialist Partner (Initial Teacher Training) status by UCL Institute of Education.

We share expertise and resources with Haberdashers' Askes's Hatcham College and Langley Park High School for Boys as well as with Kensington Avenue Primary School, a fellow academy overseen by The Manor Trust. We also maintain close contact with a further six primaries - Norbury Manor Primary School, Downsview Primary School, Kingsley Primary School, Winterbourne Girls Junior School, Elmwood Junior School and Purley Oaks Primary School.

Our partnership with Independent Catering, provider of the college's dining services, resulted in the college being the first secondary school in Croydon to be awarded the Healthy Schools London Silver Award.

What we offer

"Staff enjoy working with the pupils. One member of staff typically commented, ‘I couldn’t be happier here.’ Relationships between adults and pupils are very positive and enable the young people to prosper. The school promotes good values well. Pupils like the school, show pride in it, and behave thoughtfully to others." - Ofsted, 2017

Norbury High School for Girls is an over-subscribed 11-19 girls’ school. Provisional data (Oct 2019) ranks us "well above average" nationally for student progress and very positively within the London Borough of Croydon. We were voted Best Secondary School in Croydon in 2019.

The school has a supportive induction programme for all new staff and is committed to continuing professional development. Experienced staff are able to join our middle leadership and senior leadership training programmes and many of our teaching staff choose to enrol on our subsidised school-based MA programme that is run in conjunction with St Mary's University.

The school is a member of PiXL. We share expertise and resources with Haberdashers' Askes's Hatcham College and Langley Park High School for Boys as well as with Kensington Avenue Primary School, a fellow academy overseen by The Manor Trust.

Norbury High is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of our children and young people. As part of our safeguarding commitment, appointment to any post is subject to receipt of satisfactory references, medical clearance and a satisfactory Enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check as well as evidence of the right to live and work in the United Kingdom. The school uses preferred agencies and, in line with our safeguarding commitment, is unable to work with any agencies without prior agreement.
