Overview

North Lindsey College occupies a large 23 acre site in Scunthorpe. Every year we enrol over 12,000 learners on our comprehensive range of Further and Higher Education courses.   Students at North Lindsey benefit from highly experienced staff, a friendly relaxed atmosphere, a wide range of support services and modern facilities set in attractive grounds.

The College offers a wide variety of courses at all levels, which provides so many opportunities for our students to progress and grow. We now offer courses right up to Honours Degree level in many subject areas. We also offer the opportunity to study ‘A’ Levels alongside a vocational qualification through our new Science, Technology, Engineering and Maths Academy (STEM) which opened in September 2011.We are the major provider of post-16 education and training in North Lincolnshire and work with a range of partners to ensure we maximise available opportunities.

We endeavour to provide a welcoming and positive environment for both learners and staff and encourage everyone to share our enthusiasm for success.Staff are employed in a range of management, teaching and support roles. From September 2012 onwards teaching and management staff will continue to be recruited through North Lindsey College however all support staff vacancies will be recruited through the Optime Support Ltd, a subsidiary company of North Lindsey College.

Awards


Both the College and its onsite Nursery were judged by Ofsted as ‘Outstanding’ in 2010 and 2011 respectively. The College also holds many other accolades and awards including multiple Beacon Awards, Investors in People, Customer Service Excellence Award and the Matrix Standard. Internationally the College also has the distinction of being judged as ‘World Class’ for College/School Partnerships and Employer Engagement.

The College is recognised as a Mindful Employer and also holds Positive About Disabled People status which is granted by Jobcentre Plus.
