Welcome

‘Treat others the same way you want them to treat you.’ Luke, 6.31

On behalf of Orchard C of E Primary School, I would like to welcome you to our career page. I hope that it will give you a flavour of our wonderful school. We are very proud of our school, our pupils and their successes.

We pride ourselves on our warm and friendly atmosphere and hope that new parents and children will quickly feel part of our school family. We are proud to call ourselves ‘a small school with a big heart.’ Our staff are extremely hard working and caring. We are concerned, not only for the children’s educational progress, but for their health and welfare; and aim to give them as many opportunities in the wider curriculum as possible.

As a Church school, the Christian faith underpins all that we do in school. We strive to ensure that pupils at Orchard are happy and confident individuals who demonstrate the school’s core Christian values of endurance, forgiveness, friendship, peace, thankfulness and trust.

We aim to provide a broad and balanced curriculum which equips all our children with the experiences, knowledge and academic skills to inspire them to become lifelong learners. We are all very proud of the children who come here and all that they achieve during their ‘journey’ through the school. Our school has high expectations of behaviour and achievement and our children are taught to be well-mannered and respectful as well as to think for themselves.

Should you have any further queries feel free to contact the school by email or telephone.

Ofsted Report 2020

The following are some highlights from our 2020 Ofsted Inspection Report.

"Pupils are confident learners at Orchard C of E Primary."

"Leaders ensure that pupils learn about a range of different faiths and cultures. Many of them join in the school choir and all learn a musical instrument. Through roles such as school councillors, sports ambassadors and eco warriors, pupils contribute to school life and learn how to become good citizens."

"Around the school and in lessons pupils behave well. They are attentive and work hard. The school’s Christian values remind pupils how to treat people with respect, understanding and kindness. Pupils are considerate of each other."

Our Vision

Confident, Creative, Curious and Caring

These four words form the basis of everything we do. Our children develop a sound understanding of what they mean…

  • Confident - Our school is a place where we can experiment and take risks in order that we might better ourselves and the world we live in. We encourage our children to develop as confident learners who enjoy challenge and are resilient.
  • Creative - Our children are supported to become creative individuals who can problem solve and think creatively.
  • Curious - Children are encouraged to investigate and learn about the world around them. Curious minds ignite a passion for learning.
  • Caring - We care for each other and celebrate our differences, achievements, and contributions to the world. We treat everyone with kindness and generosity and respect. We help people in need and are sensitive to people’s feelings.
