Pield Heath House is a non-maintained school for children and young people with special educational needs between the ages of 7 and 19 years, recognised by the DfE under the Trusteeship of The Sisters of The Sacred Hearts of Jesus and Mary and judged ‘Outstanding’ by Ofsted at our last three inspections. We offer day, residential and short-break provision for children and young people with moderate to severe complex learning needs and associated speech, language and communication difficulties, including autistic spectrum disorders (ASD). We provide a holistic approach to education, within a caring, spiritual environment where every young person is of equal importance, valued for what they are and encouraged to reach their maximum potential. Our highly skilled and deeply committed staff are passionate in their work with our young people to encourage their progress, celebrate their achievements and inspire confidence in their futures, in close partnership with parents and carers. Our purpose is to maximise our students life experience to enable their independence and inclusion in the wider community. Parental/carer involvement
We encourage parents/carers to be as involved as possible in the young person’s learning programme. We operate an ‘Open House’ policy and parents/carers are welcome at any time. We have an established Annual Review procedure and parents/carers are expected to play a full part in Annual Review Meetings.

Every young person has either a Communication Book (up to Year 11) or a Diary (from Year 12 onwards) that is used to keep both home and school advised of daily activities, school trips, hospital appointments etc.
