“The Pivot Academy will enable schools to identify an appropriate alternative education pathway for students. We will do this through high quality assessment, identification of need and with a focus on outcomes. We want to be a provider who works with schools and LAs to identify the most appropriate and relevant pathways for young people and we will aim do this proactively rather than in reaction to or as a consequence of negative behaviour. Collaboration with all stakeholders is key.
Through our many combined years of experience working in the public, private, educational and social care sectors, we are confident that the Pivot Academy will have the desired impact not only on the outcomes for individual students, but also a significantly positive impact on local and regional data with regard to pathways, exclusions, attendance and mental health support for students. In working in this collaborative way, we will in turn reduce spend and case load for public sector services.
The Academy has been designed to engage young people in activities that challenge their ideas of traditional learning. High levels of challenge and support will endeavour to ensure that students become responsible for their own choices and ultimately their behaviours will improve and academic success will be achieved.
