Welcome

We are a family, where all members of the school community feel inspired, listened to and value one another’s achievements. Our aim is to nurture each child to ensure that they can take their place as caring and considerate citizens in a global world. Everyone is welcome through our door – all will receive our love and attention as we guide and challenge them to be the best that they can be.

We are extremely fortunate to have a committed staff who share the common aim of wanting to give your children the best possible start in life. Not only do we strive to achieve the highest level of literacy, numeracy and all round education, but we also ensure that your children are safe and happy. Our pupils are exceptionally well – behaved, kind, helpful and supportive of each other; they enjoy opportunities to get involved with the day to day running of our school through our Job Centre. They are proud to be part of our school family.

Our creative curriculum allows us to bring ‘learning to life.’ Our topic-based approach is designed to allow us to teach the breadth of the National Curriculum, alongside enrichment experiences that build on our pupils’ cultural capital. Our curriculum is designed to be challenging and aspirational, to ensure that pupils fulfil their potential and are enthused by learning. Our aim is to nurture happy, well-rounded individuals who are equipped to achieve their potential during their time here and beyond.

About Us

4.jpg

Queniborough C.E. Primary School is an ex Voluntary Controlled school with a caring, Christian ethos, which converted to Academy Status on November 1st 2012. A special feature of the school is its inclusive nature and the care and concern shown for each member of the school community.

We have strong links with the local Anglican Church and village community. The school has very attractive grounds, which are used beneficially for outdoor learning activities. The original National School building is in the centre of the village and now houses our small swimming pool. The present school was built between 1953 & 1966 in four major phases.

Approximately half of our learners live in the village of Queniborough with the other half from Syston and neighbouring villages. We are single form entry. At present we have 203 children in school. We are viewed positively in the local area.

The building has the usual facilities including a hall, and ICT suite. The playgrounds, sports field, daily mile track, outdoor gym and grassed areas provide ample space for children to play and participate in the programme of physical education. We have recently established a designated Forest school area within the grounds.

School Values

Our Vision Statement:

With JESUS at our side,

We ACT with a sense of right and wrong.

We show LOVE by being kind to everyone.

We WALK through each day with modesty in all we do.

Our 7 Christian Values

Children in school worked together in their Friendship groups to decide the seven key Christian values that represent our school. Children first discussed and recorded characteristics that they felt were important about our school and then these were collated into seven areas. Children and staff then worked together in a special school assembly to identify which values matched these qualities. Our ‘Stars of the Month’ children are often chosen for reflecting one of these values in their everyday life.
