Rougemont School is a busy, friendly independent day school, taking girls and boys from nursery right the way through to the sixth form.

Our school site is known as Llantarnam Hall and encompasses the three main school departments: the Infants' School & Rougemont Nursery, housed in a self-contained building called Nant Coch House, the Junior School in Llantarnam Hall itself and the Senior School in the Burge Building.

We believe in giving children a head start and we aim to do just that for each and every one of our pupils. At the heart of achieving this lies a supportive environment, where children are encouraged to learn, play, develop and reach their full potential as rounded individuals.

Our small class sizes, the team of dedicated and approachable teachers and the excellent relationship between staff and pupils all combine to create Rougemont's distinctively caring and friendly character.

The School

Rougemont School is an HMC co-educational day school for pupils aged 3 to 18 years.

Rougemont is Gwent's only independent school. Located on the outskirts of Newport in 50 acres of grounds, Rougemont offers pupils a strong academic and social grounding with first class teaching and small class sizes ensuring individual attention for allpupils

Rougemont Nursery, the Infant and Junior Departments are all self-contained units. Rougemont Nursery and the Infant Department are housed in a modern, state-of-the-art building with fantastic outdoor playing facilities, while the Junior Department's home, in the beautiful Llantarnam Hall, preserves the feel of a traditional prep school.

Rougemont School is entering the start of an exciting phase with the construction of a brand new, purpose built £3.5 million facility to house a 600 seater auditorium, refectory and Sixth Form Centre with roof terrace. The new build will also feature additional teaching and co-curricular facilities.

Rougemont also offers an extensive School Bus network with more than 50 pick-up points across South East Wales, including Cardiff and Chepstow. As well as ensuring our fees remain competitive, all school fees are payable by direct debit at no extra cost to parents.
