About Us

Sidmouth Primary School is a Community Primary, co-educated day school, catering for approximately 273 children. It is not affiliated to any religious denomination. The school has an early years’ admission policy and this allows us to admit pupils at the beginning of the school year in which they reach their 5th birthday. The school has two sites, one on Lambert Street, Newland Avenue and the main site sits between Sidmouth Street and Tavistock Street, off Newland Avenue. The Early Years Unit on Lambert Street is the base for our Nursery (age 3 -4) and the 2 Reception Classes, accommodating the children in a single storey building. Years 1 - 6 children are accommodated on the main site in 2 double storey buildings.

We have good relationships with parents, children and other members of our community. The school has a reputation for being a warm, friendly, caring place and committed to providing a high quality education and caring deeply for the well-being of our children.

At Sidmouth we take great pride in the happy, warm and welcoming atmosphere our school exudes to visitors. This is reflective of how our school runs on a daily basis. We go to every length to ensure our children not only reach the highest academic standard of which they are capable, but grow and develop holistically. We nurture and value our school’s tradition of being a caring and friendly school, which supports families and the community.
