We work hard to create an environment where students will be happy, grow in self-confidence, thrive academically, and make the most of the many opportunities we offer. We pride ourselves on the pursuit of excellence both inside the classroom and out, and on encouraging pupils to develop their talents and interests. We take 154 boys into Year 7 who join us from Gloucester, the county and beyond. We have a mixed Sixth Form into which we have welcomed a current total of 150 girls. In every Ofsted inspection we have been judged Outstanding. We were awarded Specialist College status in three areas (Languages, Science, Leading Edge Mentor School) and on 1st October 2010 we became one of the first of the new Academies. Although we are a progressive and modern centre of learning excellence, we have not forgotten our heritage and we are proud of our traditions, the best of which underpin and influence the overall ethos of the school. The school motto ‘Garde Ta Foy’ is written in Old French, it means Keep the Faith.
