St. Augustine of Canterbury is an inclusive Catholic Primary School situated in the North East of Bristol. The School is part of Clifton Diocese and in South Gloucestershire Local Authority. The campus consists of the School, the Catholic Church and the Presbytery. The location of the School near the Avon Ring road and also near the apex of the M4/M32 makes it a particularly attractive location to live or commute. The School built in 1969 will shortly be a single form intake with a standard number is 30. The current roll is 213. The school is part of a vibrant community of articulate, well behaved children, with a strong teaching team. OFSTED (June 2016) states that learning is prepared that “excites and motivates pupils” which has promoted significant progress. We also have a dynamic PTFA and highly skilled Governance. The children excel in their caring attitude to each other whilst also thinking of people further afield with each House supporting different charities in their fundraising. The School is underpinned by strong values and described by others as a strong feature of the school. They are rooted in all aspects of the school’s work and help promote the mission and ethos of the school. The school collaborates closely with other local catholic schools in the Emmaus Partnership as well as within the Camino Diocesan Hub. The school can effectively monitor and moderate its outcomes across a wide network of schools.
