St George's is a vibrant and friendly school that has been at the heart of the St George's Road community for over 130 years.  

At St George's we aim to make learning exciting and meaningful so that every child in our community has the opportunity to achieve their full potential.

In November 2016 the school changed its status from foundation school to an academy as part of the Yorkshire and the Humber Co-operative Learning Trust.

At St George's we recognise every child's right to a broad and balanced education in a safe environment that nurtures talent, creativity and individuality in all its forms.

We aim to equip every child with the academic, social and creative skills to flourish in a diverse, exciting and ever-changing world.   

We strive to develop confidence, resilience and high self-esteem in all learners so that they are able to persevere in times of difficulty and see mistakes not as failure but as opportunities to learn. 

We celebrate diversity and together we learn to value and respect other's views, beliefs and ways of life.

Thrive Co-operative Learning Trust created in September 2016 and now includes 3 secondary and 7 primary schools.

Our aim, underpinned by co-operative values and an ethical approach to leadership, is to inspire our students and staff and bring rapid and sustained improvement to the communities we live and work in.
