Overview

School Mission

St Joseph’s school vision is that together we are the architects of the future, building lives on the firm foundation of the gospel.

Inspired by Christian values, we aim to provide love and security within a curriculum designed to meet the complex needs of all individuals, in order to prepare them to take place in the ever changing world of today and tomorrow.

To achieve our vision, we work in partnership with parents to:

- Nurture the faith, through living and teaching gospel values

- Inspire achievement by promoting excellence in all we do

- Realise potential by encouraging everyone to be the best they can be ensuring our children develop into confident, informed active and responsible global citizens who aspire and inspire.

About Us

History

St. Joseph's is a Roman Catholic Voluntary Aided nursery and primary school for boys and girls aged 3 to 11 years old.

St. Joseph's is situated in the borough of Wandsworth and The Archdiocese of Southwark, serving the parishes of St Thomas a Becket (West Hill), St Mary Magdalen (East Hill) and St Gregory's (Earlsfield).

The school was originally founded in 1840, but relocated to a new purpose built building on its present site in 1997. It was built to be environmentally friendly, with the electricity in the library provided by the River Wandle.

As a result of the school's commitment to ecology, St. Joseph's was one of the first schools to receive a 'School's Eco Award' for its work in this field.

Today, St Joseph’s continues to thrive.  Our school family consists of over 240 children learning together, with 30 different languages spoken.  Together we create a vibrant school community which embraces our motto:

“Learning to love, loving to learn”.
