Overview

At St Martin's Pre-School we aim to provide a happy, friendly, enjoyable and secure environment for children of different backgrounds and abilities.

Their welfare, development and all round well-being are our main priorities.

•  We provide education and care for children from the age of two until the time they start school.

•  We ensure each child receives exceptional care and attention through high ratios of qualified staff to children, as well as volunteers and parent helpers.

•  We are based in St Martin’s Children’s Centre, adjacent to St Martin’s Infant and Junior Schools, Worple Road, Epsom.

•  We have a beautiful, newly built, light, airy building with a large well resourced, secure outdoor play space.

•  We follow the Early Years Foundation Stage curriculum, which supports our aims to care for and consider each child as a whole, providing a well balanced pre-school education.

•  We are regularly inspected by Ofsted and at our last inspection in December 2009 we were awarded ‘Outstanding’.

About Us

Our Pre-School is a charitable incorporated organisation registered with the Charities Commission, and run for the benefit of the children, their families and the community.  As such, we have a Management Committee (made up of volunteer parents/carers) that is responsible for the Pre-School and its staff.  Committee members are the charity trustees of the Pre-School, and meet to discuss key operational and strategic matters, as well as taking on specific responsibilities, from reviewing policies to undertaking risk assessments to meeting contacts at the local infant school.  Please see Our Committee to find out more.

Our Staff

Our practitioners are qualified to Level 3 or above and have many years experience working with children.  Disclosure and Barring Service checks are carried out on all new members of staff and references are always obtained.

Our practitioners regularly attend training including the Early Years Foundation Stage, special educational needs, safeguarding children, first aid, behaviour management and many more.
