About Us

We are a large urban school in Berkshire, close to the centre of Reading, serving the multicultural and multifaith community of Coley and Coley Park. We are a purpose-built Church of England school, completed in 2006 when two former schools were joined together, St Marys and Coley Park. Our school has 14 classes and a large nursery. Our facilities are wonderful and include a large hall, lots of group rooms, a well-equipped ICT suite, a magnificent music room and a prayer room. We also have amazing, spacious school grounds which include a woodland.

St Mary and All Saints is a happy and friendly school where ‘Everyone Matters’. We aim to provide the very best for every child in our school, where every child is known as an individual, loved and cared for whilst being guided to identify their talents and reach their potential within a safe and secure Christian environment. This is based on John 10:14.

Jesus said, “I am the Good Shepherd, I know my sheep and my sheep know me.”

It is our responsibility to provide our children with exciting and stimulating learning experiences that will motivate and challenge them to achieve their very best, facilitate children making choices, asking questions, and making decisions in order to reach their potential as independent learners. We encourage our pupils to be confident individuals and develop a lively and enquiring mind.

Our Ethos

St Mary and All Saints is a Primary School with a Church of England foundation, and we are proud of the ethos that pervades the school. This can be seen in the value we place on personal relationships, the importance we give to good manners, respect for the opinions and beliefs of others, and celebration of diversity.

Our pupils are expected at all times to do their best and to do themselves, their parents, and their school credit. We keep in very regular contact with parents, and share with them any concerns we may have so that we can work together to ensure children are able to learn and be successful.

This, of course, aligns with both our school Christian values and British values, which we actively promote through our school vision, ethos, agreed rules, curriculum, and teaching. As such, we promote tolerance of, and respect for, people of all faiths (or those with no faith), cultures and lifestyles. We prepare children and young people positively for life in modern Britain by supporting them through our words, actions, and influence, not just within school, but also within the wider community.

The White Horse Federation

The White Horse Federation, made in Swindon, founded in 2012

The White Horse Federation is a Multi Academy Trust of primary schools, secondary and special schools. The federation grew from a passion to be collaborative in providing a first class education to a wide range of children so that each one could more fully understand what they were capable of, what talents they had and to strive for excellence in themselves in order to succeed in the next phase of their education and in the world of work.

At its heart is a belief that we want to develop the type of schools that we would be proud to send our own children to. We do this with a relentless drive for academic excellence blended with a shared moral purpose and shared values but also with an awful lot of fun and happiness in our schools. We genuinely believe in partnership working with our schools, the pupils and their parents and the wider community each serves to create the best possible outcomes for our children.

We also believe that our colleagues are among the finest in the country and we are proud to empower them through support, training and career opportunities. With such outstanding staff we are able to ensure every student achieves all that they are capable of and more, regardless of background, culture, heritage or ability.
