Overview

St Peter’s Infant School is located in the beautiful rural setting of Tandridge village. Children come to the school from the village and the surrounding areas of Oxted, Hurst Green, Crowhurst, Godstone and South Godstone. We are a Church school with a Christian ethos while promoting respect for other cultures and faiths.

Founded in 1870 the original Victorian building remains but the accommodation has been modernised and extended significantly in the last 20 years. Our classrooms are well resourced and provide the best possible learning opportunities for our pupils. ‘Pupil’s personal development and well-being are outstanding because of the excellent care, guidance and support provided. Pupils are friendly, exuberant and articulate. Behaviour is very good’ Ofsted 2008.

• to ensure there is a happy, safe, secure, stimulating and supportive learning environment where Christian beliefs and values are central to the ethos of the school and its teaching

• to provide quality education through a broad and balanced curriculum, in order that pupils can achieve their full potential and develop responsible and enthusiastic attitudes to learning

• to extend quality of care to all members of the school community leading to attitudes of mutual respect, responsibility and self discipline in a multi-cultural society

• to promote and nurture strong links between school, home, church parish and the wider community including other schools, preschools and nurseries, the Local Authority and the Southwark Diocesan Board of Education
