Welcome to Stamford Green Primary School and Nursery

Learning_(Small).jpg

We are a large primary school and nursery with three forms of entry from Reception to Year 6 as well as two nursery classes.   We have 630 children on roll from Reception to Year 6 and about 50 children in Nursery.

Our vision is to be a continually improving learning community for all, where children realise their potential.

The school motto is 'Working together to be the best we can' and this is brought to life through our seven commitments, to each child, during their seven year journey with us:

Inspiring ~ Happiness ~ Values ~ Achieving ~ Ambition ~ Learning ~ Togetherness.

We have a large team of over 80 staff and we are committed to continuing professional development for all our staff both through mentoring, coaching and support and the provision of formal training.  Many of our support staff have gone on to train as a teacher through our School Based Initial Teacher Training (SCITT) programme.  To support the well-being of our staff we provide a generous special leave policy and health cover for staff which provides a range of services including health screening, GP telephone and video consultations, physiotherapy, counselling and private medical operations for certain conditions.

If you would enjoy working in a friendly, exciting and dynamic environment, we would love to hear from you.

About Us

Stamford Green is a three form entry Primary School and Nursery with 630 pupils across YR - Y6 and about 50 children in Nursery.

The facilities inside the building include fully refurbished classrooms across the whole school,  a hall , a Studio for dance or other activities, a brand new library, designed to nurture a love of reading, a number of group teaching spaces, and a brand new Nursery building and Clubhouse for our Extended Services provision.  IT is built in across the curriculum and we have class sets of iPads, Chromebooks and Laptops to develop a broad range of IT skills.

The children benefit from extensive grounds which have been developed to allow for exceptional outdoor learning across the whole school, whether it is using our large, tree lined field for forest school, using the Eco- Garden, playing sports on our all weather pitch or using the outdoor space outside classrooms for outdoor learning.

Specialist teachers teach Spanish, Music and Sports across the whole school, allowing year group teachers time to plan together weekly.  Teaching assistants are deployed across the school according to the needs of the children.  In addition, children in the reception classes have the benefit of having a full time teaching assistant each.

Schools Based Teacher Training

Many of our teaching assistants spend a year or two getting some experience of being in the classroom before going on to train as teachers and we can support you with this. In partnership with Surrey South Farnham SCITT, we offer outstanding primary teacher training through a school-based teacher training route where trainees spend a greater proportion of their training in school.
