Headteachers Welcome

Stanley Primary School is a vibrant, busy school where children are highly valued as individuals, well cared for and encouraged to reach their potential. The children are at the heart of every decision we make, ensuring that they are happy and confident, and the opportunities that are provided are relevant to their needs both now and in the future.

We have a large, modern school site incorporating a gym, hall with stage, music room, food-tech kitchen, well-stocked library, dance studio and ICT suite. Our extensive outside space includes a large playing field, 2 MUGAs (multi-use games areas), 3 playground spaces, a trim trail and our 'living classroom'.

We are an inclusive school and place a very high emphasis on our school values, ensuring that they filter through everything that we do. We are passionate about ensuring that our pupils receive a well-rounded curriculum and develop a love of learning. This will ensure that they reach high standards and are well prepared for the next stage in their education. We offer a substantial extra-curricular programme for our pupils, providing them with opportunities to develop skills that they didn't know they had!

We are proud of our broad range of after-school activity clubs. In addition, we run before- and after-school Wraparound care on-site, with coaches providing a range of activities in addition to various sports. Sessions can be booked on a regular or ad-hoc basis for children in Reception upwards. Our wraparound partners, Sport4Kids, also run Holiday clubs here at Stanley.

Our school offers a friendly welcome to all, and we work hard to foster excellent relationships both with pupils and parents. We firmly believe that education is a partnership between home and school. We regard you as an active partner in your child's education and value your interest and support.

Mr. Simon Hawley

Values

At Stanley Primary School our school moto is ‘Learning with Confidence Together’. To help us achieve this, we have six school values that are woven through our school curriculum to help develop our pupils into well rounded young people who are ready for their next steps in education and to prepare for modern life.

The wider curriculum is hugely important to us and we feel that our school values and values awards contribute significantly to the content of our curriculum, bringing challenge and enrichment in equal measure for our pupils.

Throughout their time at Stanley, pupils would have the opportunity to complete the Stanley Values Awards. The award will be achieved by completing a number activities that will be planned for them by their teachers.

Children in Y1 and 2 will work towards their 'bronze award', 'silver in Y3 and Y4 and ''gold in Y5 and Y6'. In the EYFS, our values will be delivered through the early years curriculum.

Responsibility
We will act as role models for others in the way we behave, the way we move sensibly around the school and the way we treat property.

Empathy
We will do our best to understand how others feel and the impact that our actions have on others.

Aspiration
We aspire to build strong and trusting relationships with each other.

Contribution
We will make positive contributions to our class and school in the way that we conduct ourselves.

Resilience
We will try our very best, even when things are difficult and use our mistakes as opportunities to learn.

Happiness
We will try everything we can to make sure that we are happy in our lives and that others are happy too.
