Welcome to SupaJam

INTRODUCTION:

Founded in 2013, SupaJam Education in Music and Media (also known as SupaJam) is an award winning unique educational provider set up by David Court and Nick Stillwell for students aged 16-18, and 19+ with Special Educational Needs and Educational Health Care Plans.

OUR MISSION:

To help vulnerable young people who have previously fallen out of formal education engage, achieve and progress in a unique, inclusive learning environment.

OUR ETHOS:

Our ethos is to be forward thinking, caring and encouraging whilst providing a structured, supportive and non-judgemental environment, allowing all our young people to thrive and achieve to their full potential.

Our expectation is that all SupaJam staff uphold our mission and ethos in every aspect of their roles, championing a respectful and open-minded culture that inspires staff and students alike.

ABOUT US:

We use music to engage our learners offering RSL Music Practitioners Diplomas at Levels 1, 2 and 3, alongside Functional Skills, GCSE English & Maths, Work Experience, SMSC, Practical Musicianship and Life Skills Sessions, infused with guest speakers and professionals from within the music industry.

We support disadvantaged and vulnerable young people, many of whom have never achieved a qualification, and currently have a 94% music diploma pass rate.

Our ethos is to encourage our young people to focus on the future rather than the past, with regular encouragement, support and positivity.

The Diploma focuses on the fundamentals of the music industry, providing learners with a nationally recognised Business Diploma, allowing and encouraging our students not only to pursue careers within music, but also to build on the skills needed within any working environment; confidence, organisation, time keeping and responsibility.

The environment we work in establishes itself not only as a place of learning, but as a safe haven for all of our young people. We encourage a less formal learning climate that tries to embrace the needs of all of our students, from quiet working areas, to communal break out spaces, to rooms designed specifically for those working on music software or wanting to play musical instruments.

David and Nick have built SupaJam on three guiding pillars;

We are non-political: this means SupaJam does not support any political party.

We are non-religious: this means SupaJam does not promote any religion to our young people.

We are non-judgemental: This means that SupaJam does not make judgements about any previous life choices our young people have made.

Whilst students may express their own political and religious opinions, we do not force on them our own and allow all students to explore equality and diversity throughout our organisation on their own terms.

We currently have two bases, one in Canterbury and one in Swanley.
