ABOUT THE CAMBRIDGE PRIMARY SCHOOL
The school is part of an exciting urban development in Aldershot. The school has been designed by Hampshire County Council and in partnership with the Engage Enrich Excel Academies (EEEA) the Cambridge Primary School promises to be one of the best school buildings in the country. The building itself revolves around a court yard area and there will be two floors. The designers have created a building that appreciates the natural surroundings and allows lights to flow through the building, to enhance the children's learning experience. The school grounds are extensive and children will benefit from a large sports field, a hard surface play area and a football pitch. In addition to these great resources children in the early years environment will be able to play in a beautifully constructed playground, aimed at developing their academic, social and spiritual skills. They will be able to experiment and explore the world around them in a safe, secure and stunning setting.
To enable the children to understand the world around them, there is a pond and habitat area. This is where Science will come to life and teachers will foster curiosity and help children to dream. The reception and hall area will provide a great space for community use and it will enable a focus point for the development as it continues to evolve. The school will eventually cater for 420 pupils with two classes in each year group. Whilst it will take time for the school to reach its full capacity the children that will start in the school in September 2018 will experience learning in one of the best school buildings in the country. The Cambridge Primary School will be a great school, serving a great community. The vision for Wellesley is inspiring and the development's first school will be a place where hopes and dreams are fostered, and families will feel a sense of belonging, purpose and drive. The Cambridge Primary School combines innovative architecture with high quality teaching and learning. It marks a new chapter in the history of Aldershot and EEEA look forward to working with local partners and schools to make the Wellesley development a huge success.
