Welcome

A very warm welcome on behalf of all the children and young people, staff and governors of The Children’s Trust School.

I am extremely proud to be part of this unique leading school.

Dedicated and skilled staff maintain a focus on learning, with the multi-disciplinary integrated approach being a huge strength of our school. Together we create an effective whole system to deliver high-quality support and experience for children with special educational needs, placing their quality of life at the heart of what we do.

Our mission

To support children and young people to live the best life possible, with excellent education, health therapy and care (EHTC).

Our vision

The Children's Trust School will be a growth-orientated national centre of excellence for children and their families - with all environments promoting innovative, researched best practice through visionary integrated EHTC.

About us

Mel_03.jpg

Every year 40,000 children in the UK are left with a brain injury as a result of an accident or illness and it can be devastating – they may no longer be able to walk, talk, stand, sit, or feed themselves – sometimes all of these abilities.

At The Children’s Trust, we aim to help rebuild as many of their skills as possible, as well as their self-esteem. A child’s confidence is central to that relearning.

We help children do this through play, exploration, laughter and having fun; things that are often absent when a child has limited mobility or has had a challenging time. By combining music, singing, arts and crafts, day trips and other activities, with therapy, healthcare and education, children do not focus on what they cannot do, they just do it and have fun.

Our school is a non-maintained special school supporting children and young people aged 2-19 with a wide range of needs including complex education, health, therapy and care requirements.

School Admissions

As a unique non-maintained special school, known to provide a specialist offer for quality-of-life experience across education, health, therapy and care we are often approached by parents, families and professionals considering a school placement for a child or young person.

Safeguarding Policy

Our safeguarding policy sets out the responsibilities, reporting and investigating procedures for protecting adults and children.

People whose circumstances make them vulnerable to abuse:

Children and young people

Adults who by reason of physical, sensory or mental impairments or those with learning disabilities who require community services and may be at risk of exploitation or harm.

Safeguarding Vision Statement

We are committed to working together across organisational boundaries to ensure risks are minimised, well managed and children are protected from harm and abuse in modern Britain.
