At The Croft Primary School we have created a vibrant and stimulating 21st Century learning space where children can direct their own learning and tackle challenges with resilience and resourcefulness.

Our team of skilled Early Years and Key Stage 1 practitioners facilitate children making choices, asking questions and making decisions in order to reach their potential as independent learners. Through continuous assessment, practitioners target next steps for each child’s development. All of these aims are achieved through the medium of play as well as adult directed learning and by using a wide range of natural and manufactured resources.

About Us

At The Croft Primary School we aim to create a safe, happy, engaging and stimulating environment where children are able to develop a lifelong love of learning and resilience in all that they do. We aim to achieve this through partnership with parents, governors and the community.

Skilled practitioners will facilitate children making choices, asking questions and setting challenges independently in order to maximise their learning potential through quality experiences relevant to the 21st Century.

The school is situated about fifteen minutes from the centre of town and serves an urban area made up of a mixture of privately owned, local authority and housing association houses. We have capacity for 60 reception aged children each September with room to educate up to 420 5-11 year olds in the long term. From September 2014 we have 3 year groups open: Reception, Year 1 and Year 2.

The White Horse Federation

The White Horse Federation, made in Swindon, founded in 2012

The White Horse Federation is a Multi Academy Trust of primary schools, secondary and special schools. The federation grew from a passion to be collaborative in providing a first class education to a wide range of children so that each one could more fully understand what they were capable of, what talents they had and to strive for excellence in themselves in order to succeed in the next phase of their education and in the world of work.

At its heart is a belief that we want to develop the type of schools that we would be proud to send our own children to. We do this with a relentless drive for academic excellence blended with a shared moral purpose and shared values but also with an awful lot of fun and happiness in our schools. We genuinely believe in partnership working with our schools, the pupils and their parents and the wider community each serves to create the best possible outcomes for our children.
We also believe that our colleagues are among the finest in the country and we are proud to empower them through support, training and career opportunities. With such outstanding staff we are able to ensure every student achieves all that they are capable of and more, regardless of background, culture, heritage or ability.

At The Croft Primary School it is our aim to raise standards by promoting a school ethos which is underpinned by core values. These values support the development of the whole child as a reflective learner within a calm, caring, happy and purposeful atmosphere.

At The Croft Primary School we give regular thought to how values can be used to support the child as a reflective learner and promote quality teaching and learning. In our society children are increasingly encouraged through advertising to think of happiness as something which can be found simply in the material world. They are generally encouraged to experience life in a world which is external to their inner selves. As a school community we believe that the ethos of the school should be built on a foundation of values.
