What’s life like at The Parks Academy?
It’s fair to say that The Parks is on something of a journey. The past two years have seen almost every aspect of academy life change. Our aim is simple, we all do our bit to help pupils achieve the very best they can. Children are at the heart of everything we do.
So, what’s been happening?
The Parks is a proud academy again. Pupils are proud. Parents are proud and dedicated. Talented, passionate staff feel privileged to work here. The Parks is at the heart of this very special community.
We have changed our school colours. We have changed our logo. Year 6 now wear a very smart V-neck jumper with a white blouse or shirt. They also wear a tie. The rest of the academy wear very smart full school uniform, including our youngest F1 pupils. They look smart, feel smart, and as a result, pupils are reaching for the stars.
The academy is where it should be, at the heart of the community.
As a whole academy, we visit our local church, St Michael's, for Harvest, Christmas and Easter Services. Of course we invite parents too. Over 100 come to join us in thanking God for everything we have. We also regularly visit the residential home just a short walk away, and invite the residents to come to us so we can show our warm hospitality. We work with Tesco, participating in Farm to Fork. We regularly join sporting competitions with our friends from local schools. We open up our academy for craft mornings, Stay and Play, Stay and Read, Christmas and Summer Fairs and always our Friday celebration assembly. We are proud to say that now we have an adult Education class, where our parents are working towards recognised qualifications.
