Welcome From Our Headteacher

“Our school is nestled at the top of Richmond Hill and situated within stunning grounds. The Vineyard has been proudly educating children locally in Richmond for over 160 years, finding its final home on our current school site here on Friars Stile Road.

We are a child centred school in a community which places a high value on an ambitious curriculum from a global standpoint, to develop courageous, caring and curious learners. Our diverse community is made up of people from over fifty nationalities with many children being bilingual. When developing our bespoke curriculum we have considered the key elements that make our school unique together with up to date research on education and how children learn. Our curriculum has been carefully sequenced so that children build on the previous knowledge and skills they have learnt.

Our aim is that when we wave goodbye to the children in Year 6, as they leave for secondary school, they are happy, confident and resilient children who are respectful and care for the people and world around them. We want them to have a strong sense of self, a curiosity about the world and confidence to be courageous so they can learn and grow. We inspire all pupils to be their personal best and prepare them for the next stage in their lives.

The Vineyard Values caring, curious and courageous form the foundations of our school, enabling all children to feel welcome and included, develop a growth mind-set and feel able to make mistakes so they can learn. We place a huge importance on respecting each other so that all feel able to talk about our similarities and differences.

All members of The Vineyard community, teaching staff, parents and children, are our greatest asset and by developing relationships and working together our children benefit immensely from outstanding relationships with people they know, trust and who go the extra mile to put children’s emotional wellbeing first.

Children love being at The Vineyard - it is a happy, supportive and vibrant place, full of challenge, opportunity and spirit!

Best wishes,

Frances Bracegirdle

Seen as the happiest place in London to live, the balance of being close enough to central London while maintaining a large amount of open green space.

Heathrow Airport is 12 miles away and can be reached easily by road, train or bus and the M3, M25 and M4 motorways all provide easy access to the area.

Richmond is a friendly and lively centre with excellent facilities including numerous shops and boutiques, pavement cafes and bars, charming pubs and sophisticated restaurants serving top class international cuisine.
