Thythorn Field Primary School is a small school with one class per year group. The school has grown in size over recent years. At present, we have a school population size of 202 on roll. The majority of our pupils are from out of catchment. Our school has been refurbished over the years, including a brand new year six classroom with the rest of the school split largely into three main open plan teaching areas. We have to make the most of every available space, but think our school is vibrant and a place that celebrates and supports its children. We have a rich curriculum with visitors and visits planned to enhance children’s learning. Overall, we are a well-resourced school and recognise the need to invest in our children’s future. There are eight teachers and support staff in each class and it is essential that staff work together, making the most of support from effective partnerships and collaborations.
We have a new and active full Governing body who both challenge and support the school leaders and staff. One of the biggest assets to the school is its extensive playing field and outdoor learning environment, which we are always trying to improve. We have many after school clubs and a before and after school club on site, being run by an external company.
