Overview

Trinity Oaks C of E Primary School is a distinctively Christian school which also reflects the character of the community it serves. We aim to provide the highest possible quality of education supported by a caring Christian ethos. As a school community we have reflected on our long term aspirations for the children in our care. We want them to be excited by their learning, embrace knowledge, be inquisitive and open to new ideas. They should feel able to take risks in their learning, be resilient and know how to learn from their mistakes. They will gain independence and develop the academic and social skills to be successful in life. They will know how to communicate effectively, cooperate and work alongside others. They will grow spiritually and culturally, learning to understand the value of diversity and developing empathy and respect for others.

We thought about what we wanted our school to offer pupils Fun, enjoyment and laughter. A safe, well cared for, modern environment with new technology chosen to support learning. Energy, challenge and the buzz of purposeful activity. Opportunities for children to follow their interests, try new things, be active and creative inside and outside. High quality direct teaching and a staff team who are strong role models, have high expectations and are aspirational for the children.

An individual approach to finding each child’s strengths and help and support with the things they find things hard. Opportunities to develop friendships, be part of a team, show leadership and make a contribution to school life. Active involvement of parents, church and local community in the life of the school.

About Us

Trinity Oaks Church of England Primary School is a 1 form entry school where children are grouped by age in a mixed ability class. Within classes the work for children is carefully planned for individuals or small groups so it can respond flexibly to pupil’s needs. The children may be grouped according to their ability for subjects such as Mathematics and English. Our curriculum complies with the requirements of the Early Years Foundation Stage Framework and National Curriculum (September 2014). When developing the curriculum at Trinity Oaks we considered how our core values of Friendship, Respect, Courage and Thankfulness would be incorporated in all areas of learning.

In our Trinity Oaks aims it says that we want our children to be ‘excited by their learning, embrace knowledge, be inquisitive and open to new ideas.’ We also looked at the specific characteristics of our school and identified key features or ‘Curriculum Drivers’ in line with our philosophy of learning.  These are Developing the Characteristics of Effective Learning-engagement, motivation and thinking. Being part of a Church School-pupils’ spiritual, moral and cultural development Personal, Social and Emotional Development-the importance of emotional literacy and communication skills.

The World is our Learning Environment-maximising opportunities for learning in the school grounds, locally and in the wider community Our Curriculum is carefully planned so that all the children are engaged in exciting, purposeful and challenging activities. Our expectations are high and the children at Trinity Oaks C of E Primary School are motivated to persevere, work independently and achieve their full potential. The small size of our school enables us to respond to the needs of all our children on an individual basis, including the most able.
