Welcome

West Drayton Academy is a large three form entry primary school serving a vibrant, supportive and diverse community. We are proud to be part of the Park Federation Trust. The Trust is one of the longest established and most experienced primary federations in the country with nine schools in Slough, Hillingdon and now Buckinghamshire.

In addition to learning excellence, we also aim to develop the personal qualities that will allow the children to leave our school ready to make a positive contribution to society. We understand that being successful is often about attitude and the ability to work hard - we aim to instil those qualities in our pupils.

Here at West Drayton Academy, we believe that the combination of our 'SKIP' curriculum and 'Four Pillars' values provides the skills, knowledge and opportunities that will help to prepare our children for today and beyond.

Our pupils are energetic, respectful and grateful. Parents are supportive and recognize that we are a team around their child.

We look forward to welcoming you to our WDA family where we proudly demonstrate: Believe, Empower, Achieve. We believe that our young people are capable of excellence.

Mr. R Yates

The Four Pillars

What are Values?

Values are important to guide us to behave in a certain way. We believe in our values and they help us to know how to act so that we can work towards fulfilling our dreams. Our values help us know what is right and wrong.

  • Head - Aim High - I will challenge myself to do my best
  • Heart - Be Kind - I will be kind and respectful
  • Hands - Get Involved - I will get involved in the learning around me
  • Health - Be Healthy & Happy - I will care for myself and others

Why are our values important to us?

West Drayton’s values are called 'The Four Pillars' and thread through the curriculum. Every day, we aspire to demonstrate and apply these values in everything that we do. We believe that the Pillars support our vision and they will help to prepare our children for today, the next stage of their education and beyond.

The Park Federation Academy Trust

West Drayton Academy is part of The Park Federation Academy Trust.

The Park Federation is a community-focused multi-academy trust specialising in primary education. Our mission is to provide first-rate learning in an atmosphere of kindness, care and creativity. We are one of the longest established and most experienced primary federations in the country with eight schools in Slough and Hillingdon. All of our schools are graded by Ofsted as Good or Outstanding. The Park Federation is a big enough organization to provide excellent support services to our schools, while small enough to ensure that every school and local community has a voice in the way the federation is run and the values it lives by. All our schools have their own unique character, personality and history, while simultaneously benefitting from the strength, security and resources of a larger educational partnership.

The federation was founded over 10 years ago on 16th November 2009 when Cranford Park Primary School and Wood End Park Community School began working in a formal partnership. In 2013 two more schools joined the federation - James Elliman Primary School and Montem Primary School in Slough. By 2014, the four-school federation had grown to six schools with the addition of Western House Primary School in Slough and Lake Farm Park Academy in Hillingdon. Since then two more schools have joined the family: Godolphin Juniors in Slough and West Drayton Academy in Hillingdon.

As of September 2020, The Park Federation has eight schools: four in Slough and four in Hillingdon. It cares for and educates over 6,000 children and employs over 800 people, including more than 200 primary school teachers. Within our large staff team, we have professionals who use their impressive knowledge, skills and expertise to drive educational progress and provide the care and kindness that young children need. Our eight schools look out for each other, especially when times are tough. Three of our eight schools were judged inadequate by Ofsted when they joined us. All three are now Good. We have a proven track record of school improvement and are now working to move all our schools to Outstanding. Mutual support, cooperative working and a commitment to the children and communities we serve are paying dividends.
