About Us

We are delighted to welcome you to Whitecotes Primary Academy.

Whitecotes Primary Academy is built on hearts and minds. It is a place where all will be welcomed, all will have the opportunity to reach their true potential and to know they are loved, valued and respected.

The children are at the heart of every decision we make to ensure that they are happy, confident and that the opportunities that are provided for them are relevant to their needs both now and in the future.

Together we will work to help each child achieve their academic and social potential so that they can have better tomorrows and turn their ambitions and dreams into realities. A journey of a thousand miles begins with a single step…we welcome you on our journey together.

Quality of Education

At Whitecotes Primary Academy we strive to ensure that we provide all our children with a curriculum that is responsive to their needs, and equips them with the knowledge, skills and confidence both for now and in their future.

It is our belief at Whitecotes Primary Academy that the children are at the heart of every decision we make. We ensure that the children are exposed to excellent teaching and learning within a high quality learning environment, through effective leadership, dedicated and caring staff and within all aspects of school life.

Our curriculum is tailored to the meet the needs of all our children. We will provide experiences that are inclusive, authentic, real and meaningful. We build upon the children’s knowledge and skills using Reading, Writing and Maths as the fundamental building blocks. Through our broad and balanced curriculum, we develop rich vocabulary; read widely and often, providing experiences of life outside to know about the locality we live in. We encourage the children to take risks in their work to ensure pupils of all abilities are challenging themselves.

We will prepare children with the resilience and perseverance to become creative and independent thinkers and to develop learners for life within an ever-changing world. We recognise that our pupils have different starting points and life experiences, thus our curriculum aims to develop the cultural capital and diversity to help them become responsive and active citizens.

We value the vital partnership between home and school, with parents and staff working together for the benefit of our children. We are committed to keeping children safe and providing an environment that promotes good behaviour.

We believe that every child, however challenging their circumstances and whatever their background, can achieve.
