About Us

Zouch Academy sits at the north end of Tidworth on a large, green site, catering for more than 300 pupils aged between 4 and 11 years of age. There is also a nursery provision on-site. We aim for excellence and enjoyment in learning, and want all our children to be happy to come to school. Our children are proud to attend our school, and our teaching and support staff are committed and talented professionals who continue to strive for the best for all of our pupils. Together with our parents, we are committed to ensuring that Zouch is a happy and hard-working learning community.

Education should be focused on enabling our children to take their place in a complex and challenging world with the learning and thinking skills that will make them great future employees and great leaders, but also responsible citizens as they grow and develop.

The work to achieve this for our community starts here at Zouch. This means that we are committed to:

  • Encouraging our children to have high expectations of themselves and maximise their achievement.
  • Providing a rich and stimulating environment that fosters the enjoyment of learning and enables our children to develop skills for lifelong learning.
  • Providing a caring environment in which every child matters and achieves. As a result, each individual recognises they are valued and is able to develop to the best of his or her abilities.
  • Celebrating our pupils’ successes, enabling them to take pride in their achievements and preparing them for their future lives.
  • Developing in our children an understanding of themselves and of the world in which they live in order to enable them to become responsible and active citizens.
  • Ensuring that there is a genuine partnership between the school, our children, their parents, and the wider community in order to secure the very best for our young children.

Our Mission and Values

School Mission Statement

At Zouch Academy, our vision is to provide a safe and exciting environment for children to explore their natural inquisitiveness and develop a true love for learning. The needs of every one of our pupils will be met through our broad and engaging curriculum and children will also learn skills and make lifelong memories that will stay with them for life.

A Values-based School

Here at Zouch, we are a values-based school. Values-based education is an approach to teaching that works with values. It creates a strong learning environment that enhances academic attainment and develops pupils’ social and relationship skills that last throughout their lives. We achieve a positive learning environment through the positive values modelled by staff throughout the school. This in turn equips our children with social and relationship skills, intelligences, and attitudes to succeed at school and throughout their lives.

Values are things we believe in that help us to make decisions about how to behave. They are the principles that guide our lives. Some commonly held values include thoughtfulness, respect, trust, love, friendship, and courage. In school, we explore many more values, a great deal of which overlap. We focus on a particular value each term, developing our own and our children’s understanding of how that particular value can impact and influence our lives, our behaviours, and our choices. We celebrate when values are demonstrated throughout the school in lessons and especially our weekly celebration assembly.

The White Horse Federation

The White Horse Federation, made in Swindon, founded in 2012

The White Horse Federation is a Multi Academy Trust of primary schools, secondary and special schools. The federation grew from a passion to be collaborative in providing a first class education to a wide range of children so that each one could more fully understand what they were capable of, what talents they had and to strive for excellence in themselves in order to succeed in the next phase of their education and in the world of work.

At its heart is a belief that we want to develop the type of schools that we would be proud to send our own children to. We do this with a relentless drive for academic excellence blended with a shared moral purpose and shared values but also with an awful lot of fun and happiness in our schools. We genuinely believe in partnership working with our schools, the pupils and their parents and the wider community each serves to create the best possible outcomes for our children.

We also believe that our colleagues are among the finest in the country and we are proud to empower them through support, training and career opportunities. With such outstanding staff we are able to ensure every student achieves all that they are capable of and more, regardless of background, culture, heritage or ability.
