Have you ever considered teaching in Norfolk? A beautiful and diverse county, Norfolk has something to offer every educator, including affordable house prices and shorter commutes.
Teaching in Norfolk
Norfolk is a beautiful place with plenty of opportunities for teachers. It's a great choice for educators looking to move and enjoy their career by the coast.
The teaching landscape in Norfolk is broad, with over 470,000 students and 470+ schools in the county - whether you're looking to teach in a primary, secondary or independent school, Norfolk will have a role for you.
Norwich, the biggest city in Norfolk, is an affordable place to live compared to many other areas in the UK. The well-connected roads make it easy to travel to most schools in the county within 30 minutes; you won't have to deal with long commutes anymore thanks to reliable infrastructure. This means less time stuck in traffic and more time to concentrate on what you do best: teaching!
About Norfolk
Norfolk is a beautiful county, offering a great quality of life with easy access to the famed sandy beaches and saltmarshes, picturesque villages and the outstanding Norfolk Broads. Compared to other cities, the cost of living is attractive - Norfolk's overall average house prices are cheaper than nearby Suffolk, Cambridgeshire and Essex.
East Norfolk has nice bike paths between charming coastal towns, whereas North Norfolk is known for its hilly terrain. Attractions like Norwich Castle Museum and Strangers Hall are great for those who enjoy getting stuck into city culture and history. Norwich is also a UNESCO City of Literature, hosting literary festivals featuring UEA alumni writers. It's also the largest retail centre in the East of England!
Whatever your passions are outside of your teaching career, Norfolk and its main city have something to offer everyone!
