At Sefton Park, we believe that our school is a community of parents, staff, children and friends. It is a primary place for learning. It always involves an element of care.
The school is committed to parental partnership through planned, positive and appropriate involvement in the classroom, at home and through social and fundraising activities.
The influence of high quality learning at the primary education stage is proven to be vitally important in influencing a child’s later life. It forms a fundamental, distinct and essential phase of education in itself, without which it is difficult for children to progress successfully into secondary school or adult learning. All children are entitled to learning experiences of the highest quality and it is our responsibility to provide them.
Motivation is one of the prerequisites to learning; learning should be exciting. Children learn best when they are actively involved and interested, and when they feel happy, secure and valued.
Whilst at Sefton Park, it is our aim that all children will:-
- Be happy and enthusiastic, secure in the knowledge that they are safe, cared for, liked and valued individually. They will care for and respect themselves and others;
- Make appropriate progress in the development of skills, knowledge and attitudes pertinent to their all-round development as caring, creative individuals and learners;
- Enjoy learning through both adult and self-directed opportunities. They will frequently experience success, will challenge themselves and be confident in taking risks with their learning;
- Contribute as positive members of the school community and be well prepared for the next stage in their learning;
- Feel supported by their parents and carers as valued co-educators.
